First Day Back

Well, it's my first day back to school. My goals for summer weren't lofty, but our fridge was taken apart, cleaned AND put back together, I did some sewing, Jin and I had loads of fun, I've been jogging (aka getting my life back together*) and I read the complete Sookie Stackhouse series. Life is good. Goals for the rest of the year? 1. Keep getting my life back together. 2. Not disappear into the funk of going back to work and keep seeing friends, even on the occasional school night. 3. Keep having loads of fun with Jin, and Zander too. 4. ???

*My consistently drunk neighbor often yells "You gettin' your life back together?" whenever I jog by...

Jin Runs!

Today Zander ran the Victory 5K in our neighborhood and Jin ran the kid race. He is so proud of himself and we are too!

Today we're doing yardwork (yawn) and baking cookies (yum). Jin and I both enjoy sampling them before they're cooked. I just got the Jessica Seinfeld cookbook at Kohl's for $5. This chocolate chip cookie recipe has chick peas in them!

Taking a photoshop class again today!

Here's my CD cover. Anyone have music suggestions for getting pumped up for cleaning?

Taking a photoshop class

I'm taking a class at MCAD and working with photoshop today. We're making postcards. Here are my examples.

Happy Father's Day!

Jin couldn't find his construction hat (which he calls his cowboy hat), so he had to settle for a pirate hat. After hanging around in it all morning, I think it has become a favorite.
We're having a sweet father's day today, and thinking of Mike and Laurie, too!

We're Back!

Blogger phased out my old way of writing here, so I finally got serious and figured out how to fix it this weekend. If feels so good to be able to put pictures and other tidbits up here again! Jin is talking lots and his favorite sentence is "I DO IT, Mommy!" He wants to do everything. Pull up his chair to the stove and stir the soup? Yep. He wants to. Shovel the alley where drivers plow through with their eyes closed at about 50 mph? Yep. He wants to. Do all of the vacuuming for me? Yep. Sharpen the steak knives? Yep. This will all one day come in handy, but as of today, it's a bit frustrating. For him and me. I let him do as much as is pretty much safe, and this will have to tide us both over for now.
