This weekend we met the Deets. He introduced me to the concept of a monthly challenge. This month my challenge will be not going to Target. You might think I'm setting my sights a bit low on this one. Not so. I have a bit of a Target obsession. You never know when you might need a new sports bra, or possibly a lip gloss. Oh, and spring shoes might be in and you just can never be too prepared. But to omit Target in February is especially tough. Every year I eagerly wait for their Valentine stuff to arrive, and every year I buy up a bunch of heart themed chotchkies (you get what I'm saying, but how do you spell that word? Even spell-check doesn't know!). This year I'll have to get a smidge more creative, because Target is out until March 1. Maybe they'll still have some Valentine clearance left. Sniff, right guys? What's your February challenge?

Ours is the same: No valentines crud from le Target. You know, it always shows up the the thrift stores later. Unique seems to have a never ending suply of holiday themed junk. I haven't been in a long time, but there is probably some Valentines jazz there right now.
The Target stuff always seems cuter of their shelves. Curses!!

I mean, "mine" as in MY challenge. Steve doesn't have a problem passing by the seasonal cutesy at Target. It's a good thing Target doesn't sell comic books.

my challenge was going to be to give up candy for a month. that lasted about 1 day, until i went to walgreens and mike and ike's "theater size" was 4 for $4! i already failed my monthly challenge. walgreens is my weekness. oh, and mike and ike's!

Like Emily, mine boils down to candy. I had a random dark Dove chocolate piece today and immediately thought, "Must get lots of these and eat them all." Maybe I can bypass that temptation.

Or maybe I could go one evening without a drink. That would be good, right?

Frickin' A! I was just at Target tonight picking up a stapler (Swingline) and some trail mix. I can report that Valentine's chotchkies are in full-force, and spring break swimsuits are also front and center.

Great meeting ya, Joolie Doolie. We'll have to catch up on challenges next month.

Oi... I'd have an easier time giving up breathing then giving up Target. I think there was a day last week I was in Target three times that one day. It was all needed, of course. In the morning I had to get treats for C to take to school... Then I needed some ground turkey cause Jon said he wanted meatloaf for dinner... finally I realized at 8 at night we were on our last roll of toilet paper. The fact that each of these items ended up costing me about 30 dollars each is probably more indicative of my problem then anything else. =) You are a brave woman! And Valentine 90% off cute things a week after V day are some of my favorite buys. Does it count if a friend does the dirty work for ya? hehe!
I like the idea of a month challenge though... it seems more do-able. You may think it sounds like you are starting low, I think you are going for the gold right away.
